Coupon Lingo

Here are some abbreviations that will help you understand the coupon world.

MFR, MQ or manu – Manufacturer Coupon

Q, QP or cpn – Coupon

CS – Coupon Surfer Coupon

CLS – CoolSaving Coupon

IPC – Internet Printable Coupon

SC – Store Coupon

CC – Competitor Coupon

SS – Smart Source Insert

RP – Red Plum Insert

P&G – Procter & Gamble Insert

GM – General MIlls

B1G1/BOGO – Buy One, Get One

$1.00/2 – $1.00 off when you buy 2

$1.00 SS 11/7 – Smart Source Insert, and the publish date

YMMV – You Mileage May Vary (price may vary depending on your store price, cashier, etc..)

WYB – When You Buy (Ex: WYB a package of cookies and get a milk free or $ off the other)

MIR – Mail in Rebate

FAR - Free After Rebate

OOP - Out of Pocket

ECB’s – Extra Care Bucks (a CVS reward program that prints on the bottom of your receipt)

WFC – Weekly Flyer Coupon

WAGS – Walgreens

RR – Register Rewards (Walgreens)

OYNO or oyno – On your next order (this will usually involves catalina coupons, printed at the register. (ex: you buy a certain amount of a specific brands listed in the advertisement and receive a $3.00 catalina off your next shopping trip)

FAR – Free After Rebate

TMF – Try Me Free  (Try a product for free, after mailing in a rebate)

Catalina -  coupons that print out of the machine next to the register when you check out.

Stacking -Combining store coupon with manufacturer coupon (some store’s do not allow this, so be sure to check)

Peelies – Coupon found on the front of the product packaging

Tearpads – Coupon pads that are found by the product that you can tear and use

Blinkies – Coupons in the store aisle that are distrubted by little black boxes that blink a  red light

Hang Tags – coupon that are around the top of a product (Ex: detergent and beverages)
