A coupon can be doubled or tripled depending on the store and coupon itself.  Some stores will double or triple a coupons face value as long as the coupon allows it.  For example I have a $.40 coupon and my store is running double coupons event, they will double my coupon to $.80 and if it was triple  to $1.20.   There are limitations associated with double and triple coupons, the coupons must able to be doubled or tripled (the coupon will say “No Double Allowed” if not), also most store have a face value amount that they will double and a limit to the number of coupons that they will double or triple. You will come across  coupons that will state “Do Not Double or  Do Not Triple”, but most  manufacturer’s coupons will Double or Triple depending on the store and their policy on doubling coupons.  In most cases the store will double your coupon even if it states DND or DNT, as long as the bar code begins with a  little 5  it should double or triple regardless of what the coupon says.  If your bar code begins with a little 9, the coupon is  not able to be doubled or tripled due to the register systems.  Most coupons that you receive in your Sunday paper are 5, so you really shouldn’t run into  problems very often.

7. What are eCoupons?

Ecoupons are electronic coupons you add right to your store shopper card. It is so easy to do and it’s free. I have been adding ecoupons to my store cards for about a year now. All you have to do is sign up for the program select the coupons you want and they attach to your shopper card. The best part is that you don’t have to clip them or remember to take them with you.

Here are a few tips about eCoupons

* eCoupons do not double.

* They do have expiration dates.

* Most sites will allow you to have 50 eCoupons loaded to your shoppers card at a time.

* Though it may be possible to use a paper coupon with a eCoupon it is not encouraged. “My feeling is if they do not want us to stack these coupons with  paper ones they need to fix it so we can’t. I will stack them as long as they allow it.”

* If you have two of the same coupon saved to your account. The coupon with the soonest expiration date will come off first.

* If you have 2 eCoupons for the same item saved to your account and you want to purchase both items. Do two separate orders because only one eCoupon for the same item will come off your total per transaction.

* Don’t not shop right after you load your eCoupons. You need to give the system time to activate the coupons.

* Print a list so you know what coupons you have in your account.

8. How do I know if the Coupon is Real or Counterfeit?

The popularity of printable coupons has grown  in that past few years, and with that the problem of dishonest people trying to create illegal coupons and altered coupons.  Here are a few things to keep in mind when using Printable Coupons.

  • Do not trust printable coupons in pdf or jpeg form, that are not hosted or found on the manufacturer site.(more than likely it is a scanned coupon and altered)
  • Be Sure to read the coupons, look for security marks and that there is an address for the merchant to send the coupon to for redemption, etc… the main thing is to use common sense, if it sound to good to be true than more than likely it is.  Especially if it for a free item without a purchase.
  • Printing coupons from unknown sources, for example from a email, unless it has been sent from the manufacturer themselves. Always check the web address , most manufacturers will have the actual product in the address.
  • If are still unsure visit CIC (The Coupon Information Center) you will find a list of coupons that are out there that are Fradulant. The Coupon Information Center (CIC) is an entity dedicated to fighting coupon fraud and they work closely with manufacturers and retailer to fight coupon fraud. They keep a list of coupons that have been identified as fraudulent by the manufacturers and if you are ever in doubt I recommend that you remember this resource and check the list to check the validity of your coupons.

There are several places you can go and print the majority of  authentic printable coupons out there:

Also check out the Manufacturer Sites themselves, often they offer coupons for products on a regular basis.
